We've all grown up hearing 31st December being synonymous with the eve of a New Year! There is a lot of hype around this day, though I'm still to figure out this one question which nags me - "Why all the hype?". At this exact point my mind does a **Rolling it's Eye's** Expression!
Of course it's a new year - I usually used to write a post during the Christmas season and one for New year but here I am with an altogether new blog! Well, I felt I needed a change. I think everyone needs that change at one point in their lives and here I've decided to change a day before the New Year begins subsiding all the hype around this day in my life!
I couldn't be more happier this year - One of the roughest years in my life but yes it does seem like it's time for new beginnings and I could surely do with new beginnings not erasing anything from the past cause they've made me stronger and so much more happier and a hell lot grateful for a number of things in my life - Both Big and Small. Right from being grateful for having a wonderful family, good friends, a cozy and warm home and a cute little room for all my antics, for good health and so so much more!
As stated by Alfred Tennyson so aptly -
“Hope
Smiles from the threshold of the year to come,
Whispering 'it will be happier'...”
Whispering 'it will be happier'...”
And yes along with Hope, a fresh credit of 365 days to do whatever pleases us. Looking at it from a deep perspective - it seems scary but looking at it from the Happy- Go- Lucky perspective - it seems full of life. The doors waiting to be opened at Midnight. And all of us across different time zones running towards the finish line to get in through that Majestic Door. And once the first step is taken in we celebrate in different ways - We celebrate by bowing our heads down in silent adoration and Thank God for helping us through the past year - through the Good's and the Bad's, We celebrate by crying or even laughing or even just hugging the person whose next to you, We celebrate by the ever popular way of waltzing our way into the new year drunk or sometimes even not drunk, We celebrate by follow some family routine which our ancestors taught us and told us to follow. Yes, the bottom line being - WE CELEBRATE though in myriad forms WE CELEBRATE for another chance at Life!
People form a long list of resolutions to follow for the New Year but I usually scrap the notion of resolutions by telling myself at midnight "I resolve this year again, not to form any resolutions." It's not me being narcissistic or even slightly cynical. I realised this was the only resolution I could ever keep up to! So yes, for 8 years running - I've kept up to the hypes of New Year Resolutions! But this year, I swear to be different or rather resolve to change my New year resolution as everything needs a change at some point. And that point for me just happens to be today - The Eve of 2014!
I hope and wish you all have a Happy New Year!
